Alachua Children’s Theatre was created in 2023 by mother of three, Ms. Amber, to bring the youth of our community together in an encouraging theater environment. Everyone enrolled in an A.C.T. production will be cast! Participating in Children’s Theatre fosters creativity, builds confidence, and improves communication skills. At A.C.T. children can practice theater technique and expand their repertoire, while making memories to last a lifetime!

No experience necessary! Spaces are limited and may be held with a $50 non-refundable deposit. Tuition remainder due at the first rehearsal in January 2025.

A.C.T. Artisitic Director, Ms. Amber
Ms. Amber created A.C.T. in 2023 with help from her wonderful husband to share the joy of theatre with her three children and the youth of our community. Very active with Children’s Theatre in her youth, Amber received training in acting, singing, and dance, performing both on stage and film sets in Hollywood. For years she told jokes aboard the World Famous Jungle Cruise at Disneyland as well as working as a Tour Guide & Information Hostess for the Park. Ms. Amber received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern California with a minor in Business Administration. She studied Shakespeare at the British American Drama Academy in London, England, and has performed internationally aboard Oceania Cruises where she served as Onboard HR Manager. In June 2025 Amber will be directing ‘The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)’ at High Springs Playhouse. With a wealth of experience working with children as a former Elementary School Teacher and Youth Activities Counselor aboard Disney Cruise Line, Ms. Amber is thrilled to welcome you to the A.C.T. Family!

A.C.T. Assistant Director, Ms. Alison
Ms. Alison is a loving wife and mother of two, who has a passion for the arts. She has performed in many musical theatre productions, performing such roles as “Dorothy” in The Wizard of Oz, “Alice” in Alice in Wonderland, and “Nancy” in Oliver Twist. She also has an extensive ballet background, performing and studying with such companies as the California Riverside Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Joffrey Ballet in New York City. She is excited to have been involved with ACT this past year, helping children discover a love of the arts and performance. In addition to Asst. Directing, Alison also is a big part of our scenic design and build team!


A.C.T. Assistant Director, Ms. Sarah
Ms. Sarah has been a part of theater from a very early age. She grew up in Orlando and worked in amusement parks and the entertainment industry all through high school and college. She has a B.A. in Theatre from Florida State University with a focus on costume design. She also received her teaching certification for Drama grades 6-12 as well as ESE K-12. She currently works in cancer research at the VA in Gainesville and has a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Florida. Sarah has two children and a very supportive husband. In the past two years she has taken on more responsibility in community theater as a director, actor and costume designer.

A.C.T. Assistant Director, Ms. Hilary
Ms. Hilary loves playing theatre games with our actors and has a lot of experience working with youth theatre. Her two children have been our backstage crew our first two productions, while Ms. Hilary was Assistant Director for A.C.T.’s A Seussified Christmas Carol.
